How we met.

Ben and Lauren met Freshman year at the University of St. Thomas. Sharing mutual friends from Ben's home-town, the two saw each other here and there as friends. Ben began asking their mutual friends for more information about Lauren late in their Sophomore year. After some Facebook flirting and a semester abroad for Ben, it was time for him to make his move. Messages began to appear on Lauren's Facebook over time from across the globe (London) and a mutual interest was sparked. Upon Ben's return, as promised to his classmates abroad, he asked Lauren out - she accepted. The two began dating at the end of January, making it "official" on February 20, 2008 and the two have been inseparable ever since. :)

How Ben proposed.

After a day at home for Lauren (trying to recoup and get better) and a typical work day for Ben including “lunch with the boss” as he told her (only to find out that it was really then that he was picking up the ring!), the two stuck to their plans of heading to the Apple Orchard. By the time they got there it was 5:30, just 30 minutes before it closed up for the night. So, they decided just to walk around the orchard and check it all out. It was a gorgeous night… partly cloudy… until they rounded the last row of Apple trees and the sun came out. Just then, Ben took Lauren's left hand, turned her around and pulled a gorgeous Red-stained box from his pocket and said, “How about this apple?” He then knelt down on one knee and asked, “Will you Marry me?” Lauren sobbed… sobbed some more… and FINALLY after he asked again said “YES!!!! Of course!”. It was an absolutely perfect night, perfect proposal and the two couldn’t be happier!
